The Room Is Moving!
In this room there are numerous pillars rising from the ground to obstruct the player from completing his / her objective. The player must lure zombies to an extraction point at the center of the room. Once lured the player activates a machine to kill the zombie and transport it to a weighing station. Once enough zombies are killed the Player may proceed to the next room. -
Extraction Point
At the extraction point, the players activates a machine that traps the zombie within a glass vacuum tube, electrocutes the zombie, and sucks it up toward a weighing station. When electrocuted, the zombie convulses violently, is drawn lifelessly up through the vacuum tube and deposited onto the weighing station. -
Sleeping Beauty
A Hellknight lies dormant in the middle of the room. With no exit from the room, the Player retrieves a shotgun and wakes the Hellknight. The Player must defeat the Hellknight by kiting it to the appropriate runes on the floor. Once the Hellknight is defeated, the Player proceeds to the next room. -
Reach Your Salvation
In this room the Player must reach the end of the room to exit the room. A Hellknight and several imps spawn to impede the Player's progress. -
Whack a Mole
There is a large mechanical apparatus in this room. To reach the end of the room the Player must activate the apparatus, which forms a bridge to the exit of the room. The apparatus is activated in three stages and each stage poses an interesting challenge for the Player. -
Monster Closets
The second stage of activating the machine in this room requires the Player to turn on the auxiliary power for two generators. The switches for the auxiliary power are located in the ducts below the floor of the level. Upon activating each switch the Player encounters two surprises. -
Rotating Imps
While the Player tries to reach the end of the room, imps dynamically spawn at random locations under the walkway. The imps cling to and rotate with the grates on the walkway as grates turns. It was a challenge pulling off this effect as Doom 3 doesn't let you dynamically change the gravity of an entity ( without a MOD ). -
Overview
One of the interesting aspects of the movie The Cube was that the people in the cube did not know which room they were traveling to for a good portion of the movie. I tried to simulate this idea by having the Player randomly teleport to a different room once he/she finished the tasks/puzzles in the room he / she was currently in.
