Creating a Unique Feel
A combination of concentrated bright lights, soft fill lights, and post processing effects help create a unique atmosphere. Using this combination of effects I tried to closely recreate the look and feel of a professional Gears of War level.

Looming Giants
I created two unique visual hooks to my map: The looming giants holding the pipes of immulsion and A prominent aqueduct running through the middle of the map.

Secret Reservoir
I made each side of the map visually different to help players navigate around the map easier. One side of the map is surrounded by mountains and the other side is surrounded by a small town.

Angels reaching out
In addition to making each side of the map visually unique, I created a few monuments to help players accurately pinpoint their location. Moreover, creating the series angels reaching out of the water added a dramatic environmental element to the map.

Interesting Paths
While moving around the map, players have the opportunity to choose between multiple paths to reach the same area. These paths are visually cohesive with unique distinguishing elements like base reliefs.

Pumping Station
The top interior area of the aqueduct is riddled with a series of pipes carrying immulsion. I wanted to create different mood and atmosphere with this space by having the area shaded and exaggerating the effect of immulsion flowing through the pipes.

Cool middle level
The middle area of the aqueduct is the hot spot of the map, where players find various power weapons and easily travel between each side of the map. Moreover, from this area, players can attack enemies through the holes in the floor of the top interior of the aqueduct.
